The treasury at Shalva Amiranashvili Museum of Arts was founded in the second half of the 19th century, and was developed further in the early 20th century, creating a centerpiece for the Georgian National Treasury. Falling under the umbrella of the Georgian National Museum, it is located near Freedom Square and possesses around 140,000 items of Georgian, Oriental, Russian and other European arts.
